News from last evening's Spring General Membership Meeting -
History was made last night as we approved the new position of Vice President of Orchestral Activities and the other vice presidential positions were renumbered - the Orchestras will now be represented on the Executive Board by this new position. In addition, the proposed worker policy revisions to the Solo & Ensemble Festival were presented by Joe Havrilla and his committee and were tabled until the Fall General Membership meeting.
Listed below are the officers for the 2012-2013 school year.

Best Wishes to Dan Burdette from Avondale, as he moves from the bandroom to retirement after this school year!! John Boren, Director of Bands Emeritus from Lake Shore, Armada, and L'Anse Creuse High School-North, was present last night to congratulate Dan on his upcoming retirement!
Best Wishes to the MSBOA District XVI groups that are participating in the MSBOA State Band & Orchestra Festival this weekend!!

Solo and Ensemble Festival occurs upon two weekends in late January and early February. On these two weekends thousands of area student musicians will be performing prepared solos and small ensembles for professional musicians/adjudicators. MSBOA District XVI will post information here as it becomes available. Below is an informational letter from our hosts at Rochester High School. Please take the time to read this information as it will provide a great deal of information to improve and ease your festival experience.
